Funnyo-Noir. This movie is made for me.

2. Palm Springs

Director: Max Barbakow

A familiar concept, executed almost perfectly. Super entertaining.

3. Sound of Metal

Director: Darius Marder

Solid all-around: Concept, script, tone, look, performances.

4. I’m Thinking of Ending Things

Director: Charlie Kaufman

Very Kaufman.

5. Dick Johnson Is Dead

Director: Kirsten Johnson

I hope Richard was OK with all this.

6. David Byrne’s American Utopia

Director: Spike Lee

Thanks David, this helps.

7. Minari

Director: Lee Isaac Chung

I could have used a bit more of a story, but enjoyed spending time with the characters.

By-the-book Austen adaptation. Always pretty to look at.

Really good performances. The structure didn't quite work for me.
